Who do you turn to when you’re upset?
(The link below says it isn’t activated, but when I tried it, it worked just fine! Sorry for any confusion! Please let me know in the comments if it doesn’t work for you.)

  1. I wish I could honestly report that I turn to God right away each time that I’m upset. While it’s true that I turn to God right away some of the time- there are other times when I hang on to it quite a while.
I recommend refocusing the energy in being upset in a positive direction. Try any of the following: Volunteering, doing something good for someone else or writing a letter, exercise and count your blessings.
Eventually I recall my amazement that God has been patient with me …and not because I deserve it. More likely my better response is to extend that patience to others.

    1. What a thoughtful response, Bill! Thank you. I know what you mean about hanging on to things for a while before turning to God. Every time that happens to me, I kick myself that it took so long, because God is so faithful and turns us back toward him when we finally ask.
I loved what you said, to, about the specific things you can do to turn that energy into something positive. For me, those are all good, but counting my blessings is key–no matter what, if I’m paying attention, there is always something to be thankful for, even if it’s just a spectacular golden edge on a particularly dark cloud. If only we had “eyes to see” all the time!
      Thanks again!
