News!

MeeGenius, a picture book company that publishes interactive ebooks, just let me know today that my story, Luna Crane, Papa Plane, about a little whooping crane, is going to be published! It is a finalist in their annual contest.

In this story, Luna’s mother has been promising Luna and her siblings that they are heading to a magical land of castles, sandy beaches, and sunshine for their winter migration. Things take a terrible turn when Luna’s mother is attacked by a fox and can no longer fly. Can they find this place on their own, or should they trust an unusual new friend to show them the way?

More details later (the grand prize winner will be announced in a month or so, but the contract is already signed. No waiting for this one!

See http://www.meegenius.com for more books that this fun company produces.

Congratulations! So will it be published in paper or ebook form? Sounds like a cute story — I’m wondering what happens! It was good to see you when we were in Seattle and get a chance to catch up a little. I’m so glad you came to Laurel’s party! Peace, Heather

    • Great to see you, too, Heather! I really enjoyed our conversations.

Luna Crane will be published as an interactive ebook. I don’t think they do any print books at this point. I guess I’m not completely sure, but they were developed as a children’s publisher to address the new iPad market and they were one of the iPad’s first apps and launched the same day as the iPad. Kind of cool! I’m happy that this little story is seeing some new life this way. Otherwise, it was just a file on my computer!

      Thanks for your note!
